Subsequently, the company may find a reason to claim a violation of terms and conditions regarding the existence of a second account, compelling customers to pay for a full year of hosting, effectively disregarding the promotional offer initially advertised.
Many would label this practice as bait and switch, particularly since the terms were never explicitly stated back in 2018. It took several months for me to recover my funds from my credit card provider, but the charges were eventually reversed after this company breached the UK’s 14-day cooling-off period. They failed to recognize that I never had a second account, and who would agree to Terms of Service that are incomprehensible to highly intelligent individuals? Furthermore, discussing how a (current or former) customer allegedly violated your policies is unprofessional, especially in a public forum like Host Advice, which may infringe upon the Data Protection Act and/or privacy laws in the United Kingdom. Your company could face penalties if it were genuinely based in the UK, or if it was merely pretending to be located in the UK or Germany.
