Possibly one of the worst hosting services there are. No matter how long you've been a customer, you're treated like garbage. They have no loyalty to customers, and customer service deserves a 0/5. 100% of the times when issues came up, it took them forever to resolve (sometimes several days). They always send a list of copy/paste steps for you to do, and claim nothing is their problem. Huh?

I was a long standing customer for over a decade, and they took my education site offline, and wouldn't activate my account. It's pure theft. That company is run by criminals. Stay away.

This is just unacceptable. I've had a site on byethost for several years. It's a personal site, no public access so I'm the only one using it. I hadn't accessed it for 30 days, apparently, so they sent me an email saying they'd delete the site in two days unless I clicked a reset link. When I clicked the link, I found that my site was already gone.

I sent an email to support and have gotten no response.

Fortunately I had all my data backed up locally and didn't lose anything. If I hadn't done that, I'd have lost everything. I cannot recommend this service to anyone, and I strongly recommend against it. Having your entire site disappear one day without warning is not acceptable.

It is a very unreliable service as accounts are automatically and randomly removed without notifications to the users. I had created an account and it was stable for many years but since about two years ago, they must have changed their policy (either that or technical incompetence on their part), either way, accounts deleted without notifications is unacceptable and shameful. Two thumbs down.

I used Byethost free hosting service in a pinch but then decide that they would not work for the project I had in mind. I have been trying for 3 months to redirect my Domain to my new paid hosting company but have not been able to. I have opened several tickets requesting help to no avail. They are holding my domain hostage.

Managed to login / create account with ease. WP auto-installation with no problems. I even managed to migrate existing installation from localhost to byethost. After two days already the web transfer started to disappear. I could not make any change in WP admin panel (like changing or uploading pictures, updating posts) without waiting for long minutes and repeating same action to finally give up. The nightmare continues since I'm unable to download export file because of transfer cuts...
So I decided to create support ticket but forgot password and applied for recovery with below outcome:" The email address does not appear to be registered / a valid account.
Please check the email address is the one used when you registered the account"
